Hey Tom
One thing is for sure, those two rigs won't be hard to find. I just fueled up our bus this morning (ouch) and we will load up tomorrow (Thursday) and heading out to CrazyHorse campground at lake Havasu Friday for a week.. we plan to stop by the Dam Rally at lake Mead next Friday or Saturday to hopefully finally get to meet you all and hear some fireside stories.

Been looking forward to this trip for a while and now its almost here.

Thats great Clifford, it will be good to see you and Sonja there, we miss you guys ;)  I will go down to the Lake and make arrangements for the Rally, we usually get the spaces set aside for us, #'s 12 -16 or 17, I'll post more Saturday evening. We will place or reservation that Sat, not very crowded this time of the year and getting the spaces set aside is never a problem, so last minute show ups are usually no problems. Cheryl and I look forward to seeing you all there! :)

Hi Tom, it would be so great to see you, do you need Van or me to twist somebodys arm or splain the fact you need some southern Nevada sunshine (the dam rally has a doctor on retainer who will write out perscriptions for RALLYITIS which is only correctable by attending the Dam Rally), or would you need me to sweet talk some gourgeous babe? Lvmci...

Hi, guys.

Doreen announced that she wants to go to your gathering and I don't know anything that's really going to stop us. I do hope this does something for that Rallyitis itch.

If anything goes wrong, we'll let you know.

We didn't save any notes on how to get to the rally. We do have mapping software, but no address to give it. Would one of you give me a rerun on directions?

Thanks.

Hi All, just to refresh your minds, Lake Mead is that little blue crevise between Nevada, Arizona and Utah, full of water stopped up by this cement thing President Hoover and Roosevelt thought might be a good work project for those silly people out in that vast wasteland called the west, little did they know that recreation would actually be come a massive business, not to mention good fishing! Lake Mead RV Park is on the internet and the directions are, find your way to the Hoover Dam US Hwy 93, TURN north at the enterance to Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which is about half way between the Dam and Boulder City ( the dam was first call boulder dam, and still is by nevadans) about 5 miles from eather direction, east from Boulder City, west from the Dam, or about 2 miles from Vans house and Hemminway park where all the tourists will be watching the wild Rams head butt, mate and mow the lawn, but seriously I don't have a clue where it is, my wife just says to me in her drool humor, you missed the exit again, so I double back, that way the engine gets up to proper operating temperature by the time we get there! Glad you found it Tom, lvmci...

Hi All, can't wait to see y'all at the Dam Rally, Cifford my wife Tami has gotten some nice looking gold & red bell peppers and yellow onions for your fajitas, I found some Mexican Cokes, she's making some of her famous tuscan soup from olive garden only better, and a hot todi holiday drink! Van gots some wood to start a burningman like fire called the burning bus, I think were off to a great start! Lvmci...

What are Mexican cokes?
JC

In our part of the country, they are real cokes. Made from real sugar, and taste authentic.

Don't know what they are out in the dam portion of the country ;D

Title: Re: thoughts of that dam rally numero uno
Post by: luvrbus on November 14, 2013, 07:28:57 AM
JC, they are Cokes that come in a real bottle and made with real sugar not the corn syrup and from Mexico they may be the original recipe with a little more than flavoring  ::) they taste like a Coke from the 50's

Post by: John316 on November 14, 2013, 07:30:34 AM
Clifford, you mean to say that they could mix up which white powder is which? :o Who knows, the idea may catch on ;D

Title: Re: thoughts of that dam rally numero uno
Post by: luvrbus on November 14, 2013, 07:39:09 AM
LoL one way we will know for sure is when people start buying a large quantity and start a condensing and dehydrating process turning the coke into powder

Here we can buy those in a returnable bottle or no returnable bottle I understand our dear FDA is trying to make the bottlers there use cans and refined sugar for import to the USA if that happens I will just buy mine in Mexico like I did for years and fight the Border crossing guards

good luck

;D Tom it is a 6-92, but it sure pulled up the hill like a 892. I did spot Clifford lurking near the engine bay though, was he whispering in my intake again? Idunno! But once that thing hit the governor, I was passin every thing going back up the hill and the temp stayed at 180 degrees ;D
Many thanks to all who attended the Dam Rally! Clifford, your talent for cooking is second to none. Next year, a pancake breakfast is planned, and maybe we'll do tri-tips with crab cakes. Mark your calenders now for next year, I only see this deal getting better!

We loved making new friends and seeing new bus's, We certainly were the talk of the park this weekend! ;)

   See ya'll next year!

Van & Tom
You guys did a great job on putting this together, we haven't had many faces to put with the names so this was great experience for Pearl and I. I especially enjoyed Tami's warm beverages once the sun went down and it started cooling off. Thanks so much for the invite.

I also enjoyed meeting Clifford and sure enjoyed listening to his comments as he is such a wealth of knowledge. I was hoping to hear some of Van's CIA stories, but I am thinking Clifford might have some pretty interesting ones also. I heard him mention he sometimes has a hard time putting up with ignorance or stupid so not being the sharpest knife in the drawer I decided to try my best and not get him too fired up  >:( or I might miss out on those great fajitas he prepared. The were definitely as good as they were rumored to be. ::)

I can attest to the fact that Van & Tom's Dam Rally is the place to be in November if you are on this side of the country, hope to see everyone again next year if not sooner.

Bob
