As Nick mentioned, in an attempt to eliminate Spam, all new members will require approval by a moderator.  In addition, all the questionable memebers that joined in the last 30 days were deleted. If you joined in the last 30 days and find you cannot log in, please re-apply and you will be approved (unless you are a spammer).  We apoligize for any inconvenience to any new members, but this is the best way for us to control spam.  Jack

Greetings Busnuts,

Unfortunately, some spammers did indeed manage a brief breach of our security a few days ago, and for that I do apologize.  I've erred in the past in making it easier for new members to join.  We've had a relatively safe & troublefree run for the past few years, and also look forward to a safe & secure future with fun and interesting features coming online soon.

As a result of the breach, we have significantly strengthened our signup procedures, any spammer identities have been removed, and we are again locked down.  It may be a frustrating procedure to signup now for BBS membership, but the measures we've taken are necessary to protect the privacy of our membership.  Keeping our BBS safe for members is a top priority of our moderating team.

The signup procedure may be further strengthened in the next couple of weeks by increasing the complexity of the (new) visual verification image.  I myself do not like trying to figure out the images, however, they are effective in significantly cutting down on the number of rejected requests for board membership.  Visual image verification is only a part of the new security measures.

If you know of anyone having difficulty with the registration procedure, please have them contact one of our moderators and we will make sure they are taken care of.

Thanks for your support, and please let us know if there are any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards, Phil

Jack and Phil

Thank you for your attention to detail on this board.

Sometimes it is not noted but it is always appreciated.
