Rick, I already know several decent luthiers and they've been sneaking wood here and there for years lol, lou stiver has made several mandolins out of it, lou does a good job with them, mark taylor made me a nice crafter guitar a few years ago and I've got a nice martin made by his dad. What they want me to do is fish some of the old sunken logs out of huron bay near us, there are logs that have been on the bottom since the 1880's that is prime for tone rings, spruce tops and other parts, everything from old growth pine, maple and oak, to spruce is littering the bottom of lake superior.
