I apologize to OSB, Clownboy I mean Circusboy, and anyone else I may have offended in the last week with my bad judgment call on a few remarks I have made.

I really struggled hard to be good, but I guess the DEBIL got the best of me and I couldn't help myself.

I can not justifiably blame it one anything, or anything for that matter. It was plain and simple bad judgment.

It doesn't change the fact that it was bad judgment on my part, but I have been extremely stressed out lately. Like I said it's not an excuse, but maybe, just maybe it clouded my judgment slightly.

Anyway again I do apologize to everybody.

BTW; FWIW for those who have been left wondering it was the same bad judgment that led me to make this thread here;
http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=14170.0
silently accusing OSB & Clownboy, I mean "Circusboy" of being one and the same! I just thought that it was way to much of a coincidence that Circusboy suddenly reappeared (in the off topic section not in the same thread!)
http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=14144.0
during the same time of the post where most of my bad judgment started!
Sorry!  :'(

Thanks BK, you are a good man and a major asset to this community and a good friend.

I know there have been two threads where new member "Old School Bus" got off to a bad start with some members of the forum.  I don't know him from Adam or whether he has been a member of this board in the past  (I've found no evidence of that and have reasonable doubt that he has).

However I would point out his posts since the last meltdown have been constructive.

http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?action=profile;u=2933;sa=showPosts

Some forums have a more off the cuff, less respectful mood.  And very few forums have the sense of "family" that this one does.  And that sense of family is one of the greatest things about the bus nut community and this forum.  Sometimes when people who are accustomed to the mood and flow of other forums, they sometimes get off to a rough start here.  Other times they misjudge the closeness for clickishness.

As I said in the thread the other day, I think it is great when new members introduce themselves and give a little background as a first post.  It helps them and the community gauge their level of expertise and feel friendly.  But some folks aren't used to sharing that much info publicly, or are even uncomfortable with doing so.  It takes all kinds to make a world.

Like I said, judging by the last few posts OSB has made, he is genuinely trying to join in this community.  I simply ask everyone to give him another chance.  We've all stuck our foot in our mouth at some time and making new friends can be a difficult time.

I suspect, though, that this was just a single straw...

There are some types we don't need as contributing members. I, for one, do not miss that kind of poster when they go away.

We were lucky he boasted of his knowledge & experience, because you'd never get that impression from what he posted. (intended as sarcasm)

He acted as a troll (far be it from be to say he was a troll) who simply wanted to be accepted as an expert on this board - If he had done his homework, he'd have seen that we are all experts  Grin  Apparently being an equal wasn't good enough.  Wink

Sean no need for apologizes here!
I had given my public apology for chastising of him, and FWIW after that is when he tried to manipulate you & your words of wisdom!

If you ask me I was right the first time and the apology was a mistake, but it doesn't matter either way now that he turned and showed his tail feathers when he took his toys and left! Grin
It's obvious he didn't play well with others even after we tried to accept him regardless of who's illegitimate son he was!;D

OK, OK I'll go hide now, I'm sorry the DEBIL made me do it again! Grin

I have to agree with Sean  about this.

Lots of folks can make enough mistakes without taking erroneous advice.

I, of course, don't have that problem because I know everything about everything.

I never met the poster in question, nor have I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of you here. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and see where it takes them. I agree that there are some who post are somewhat nuts, but aren't we all!  Roll Eyes

This medium is very hard to get to know someone, at least their true self. Repect is the key word and it has to be earned, I'm still working on it!  Wink

If someone gets ticked off and leaves the group, it's their choice. I choose to hang around and learn, mabye at times I have to eat crow, but I'm still here! Grin

Besides that, some have moved on to a medium that doesn't keep all posts in an easy to retrieve archive - so their rants, insults, & disparaging remarks disappear soon after they are made.

Bk,

This apology is a good start, but you have not gone far enough.  Why have you not yet apologized for global warming?  Don't you think those drowning polar bears would like to hear it before they sink.  What about all those Katrina victims that have not heard a word from you?  And then there's that other thing!  You know what I mean.
