Ah well 3 yrs after puchasing unit # 717 in a package deal with # 722 and a parts bus thrown in # 717 hits the road and goes to FL on a "shake down run"!
We finished charging the A/C @ 7:15 PM and it was headed to Vanderbilt by 8:00 PM along with #737 & 50 (the Dina leased to us!)
I drove #717 since it was it's "maiden voyage" and the drivers of the other 2 were flat out jealous!
(Mike who has not been around many buses that don't have 60 series told me "man I don't know why, but that bus sounds awesome!"
And James who has been around them ALL for 30 yrs said "man Bryce that 8V92 is just rare'n to go man!"
Well the ol' girl made the trip flawlessly and is ever so sweet to drive and running the cruise @ 70-72 MPH (yes I really did behave this year!
) it got just as good or better mileage than #737 or Dino with their 60 series! 737 & 717 both average 7.1-7.2 and 50 averaged 6.8!
Oh what a beautiful week end to sit on the beach @ Ft. Walton Beach, FL and enjoy the scenery and shoot the bull with 2 other drivers over cold beverages!
