After I bought my bus (4104) the guy I bought it from told me that a while back the ujoint had broke and the drive shaft came off one end (not sure if it's drive or axle side). He said that he was able to fix it but when he put it back together a few of the bolt holes were stripped enough that he wasn't able to tighten them completley. He said that I could retap it or shoot a helicoil in the holes that are stripped. The bus runs and drives fine but I havnt driven it much and when I did I took it real easy. My question is basically has anyone else dealt with this situation? Any info would be m ???uch appreciated.

I would never use helicoils on a U-joint, myself. I have drilled out the threads & used an appropriate sized bolt, nut, & lock washer.
