The seller of a 4104 that I am considering has emailed me the following :
The emergency shut off solenoid is bad, which means that the air vent in the
turbo was shut and the normal amount of air wasn't getting to the engine
(blows black smoke), but I ordered a new one today and I opened the valve
and everything is back to normal and running fine.† It can run without the
solenoid without any problems, its just that it won't shut the valve if you
hit the switch† from inside if its not working.† It just took me awhile to
figure it out.
Does that sound right? or am I missing something? I thought the solonoid would shut down the engine altogether, not allow it to run rich and black smoke.
