Hello busnuts........I am thinking of replacing my house batteries.  I have an all electric 45' MCI conversion.  We currently have 4 Lifeline GPL-8DA 12 volt batteries.  Amp hours is 255 and AGM.

The prices have gone up substantially since I bought them last time.  Just curious as to what you folks are using and what you recommend. Thank you for your comments.

Call this chap- he has a forklift company that specializes in electrics, but on the side he also buys and sells used industrial uninterruptable power supplies.
As such, he frequently has wonderfully "almost new" AGM deep cycle batteries to sell at substantially reduced prices.  Usually in the 125A/H range.
I've purchased quite a few from him and to me they are about the best you can get, at 1/4 the original cost.  He fully tests them for quality and capacity before he ships them, so you always get a battery in excellent condition...

tasmankdr,
Here is an email address and phone number of a Lifeline dealer that is said to have good pricing. He is a member of POG and has been suppling batteries to that bunch with good reviews.

I have heard the Lifeline prices have gone up a lot in the last year or so, I replaced mine in late 08 and the price was $405.00 each plus $125.00 freight for six 8D AGM's.
Good luck
