Surplus & Salvage Rally, Some information in addition to that presented in the calendar.

Great Lakes Converted Coaches (FMCA) will hold their fourth Surplus & Salvage Rally Oct. 18-22, 2006, at the Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, IN. Breakfast and dinner will be provided, except for one evening when we plan to go out to an Amish family style restaurant. Last year almost everyone was out shopping at lunch, so you will be on your own for that meal.
This is a four-day rally starting Wednesday evening with a snack/dinner. Thursday and Friday are for shopping. The surplus stores are not open past 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, and only one is open on Sunday.
The campground cost is $23.40 per night. This includes sewer, water, and 30-amp electric. The rally fee is $5 per person, per day.
We will have a list of all of the stores in the area that we know about, along with a map. Please let us know if you do not have a car so that we can pair you up with someone who does. There is parking at each of the surplus/salvage yards for a coach or two, but it will be tight. Most of the merchandise at the stores are bargains, but not all. Know the prices of the items you are interested in and bring a catalog.
Our meals, coffee, and discussions will be in an enclosed building, so we will not be out in the cold, wind, or rain if the sun does not smile on us. There will be plenty of time to sit and talk at breakfast and dinner time and in the evening.
The Elkhart Campground is at 25608 County Road 4 (CR 4) East. The road parallels the Indiana Turnpike (I-80-90). The exit ramp at Turnpike Exit 96 goes straight onto CR 4 at the light. The Campground is about four miles west on the left (south) side. From Exit 92 and State Rt. 19 go 1/4 mile north on Rt. 19 to the first traffic light. Turn east (right) and go 3/4 mile. Register at the office as you enter. Be sure to tell them you are with the Great Lakes Converted Coaches.
PLEASE, if you plan to attend, it is essential that you call us for the latest information and so that we can buy the right amount of food. George & Sue Myers  (937) 426-9850 [(937) 272-3493 after 16 Oct.] or e-mail Sue@coach-builder.com.
