The dates for this years rally is August 11-14, 2011.

It will be going back to Texas this year to a location yet to be determined. More than likely around Ft. Worth area, Darrin Bruner is in charge of choosing this years location. Last year it was in Durant, OK and certain people that will remain anonymous gave me a hard time for calling it a Texas Bus rally! Wink

All information will be forthcoming soon, so mark your calenders and plan for another great rally!

This will be our fifth year anniversary, so it will have a special meaning for us.

Paul

Now Paul, you know I am not anonymous, I am a Baptist.

Daren is good people you are lucky to have such good help.  I don't know if we will make it or not, as the Cody thing is around that time, and then there is this pesky "fuel issue" going on.  We need to make our payments to the oil executives retirement fund, and it is putting a crimp on a lot of things here lately ... Like buying groceries and stuff like that.

The Texas Bus Roundup 2011 is set for August 11-14, 2011 at Coffee Creek RV Resort in Santo, TX.....approx 50 miles west of Fort Worth.  Coffee Creek has blocked 35 spaces for our rally including a very nice clubhouse with a full kitchen & large BBQ grill.  The camping spaces are 92' pull-thrus with 30 & 50 amp full hookups for $30.00 per night.  They are big rig & pet friendly.  The camping spaces are blocked, but you will need to contact Renee at Coffee Creek directly to pay a deposit & reserve your spot.....remember to tell them you're with the "Texas Bus Roundup".  If you want to arrive early or stay later they will extend the rally rate for your entire stay.  There are also cabins on site or nearby hotels if you want to join the rally without a bus.  You can learn more about Coffee Creek and their amenities by visiting their website.  Here is their contact info:

Coffee Creek RV Resort & Cabins
Attn: Renee
13429 South Hwy 281
Santo, TX  76472
940-769-2277

www.coffeecreekrvresort.com
(located just 1/2 mile north of Interstate 20 at Exit 386)

The schedule will be similar to last years rally......
* Arrive on Thursday & circle the wagons,
* BBQ grilling on Thursday evening at the clubhouse,
* Breakfast & lunch on your own both Friday & Saturday,
* Potluck Dinners both Friday & Saturday evenings at the clubhouse,
* Plenty of bus stories, tall tales & bus tourin' all rally long,
* Hit the dusty trail on Sunday!  Cheesy

We will also have Tshirts available for the first time. As we are celebrating our fifth anniversary we thought it would be appropriate to offer these.

You will be able to purchase them at the rally for our cost of $16.95 each. Very high quality Hanes, not the cheaper stuff you find at the box stores.

No, I did not design these, Becky did! Grin I'm not that talented!

Sizes: Mens - S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL

Sizes: Ladies - S, M, L, XL, XXL

This is going to be a fun time, looking forward to seeing Y'all there!

According to the latest figures we have 5 coaches that have signed up with Coffee Creek, and two of them is Darrin and I. Wink

If you are planning to attend, please make your reservations as soon as possible. We need an accurate head count so we can order the T-Shirts to have enough on hand, otherwise we may not have enough to go around. It's also important so Darrin knows how much food to purchase for the "Arrival BBQ".

This is our Fifth Anniversary Texas Bus Roundup and would like it to be a special time for all.

Happy Trails to All,

Paul

Hey folks, I'm new to the forums and looking to become a bus junkie.  I won't have a coach by August, but I'm looking into the whole conversion idea so I may drive my family over to say hello and admire your rides.   It will just be a day trip from the DFW area where I live.  Is there a day that'd be better than others, I was thinking Friday.  Looking forward to it.

That is certainly one way to do it Alex, I don't know how many coaches will be there, but it might be worth a shot.  (Added bonus, you get out of the house, no lawn mowing or weed-eating that day, a win-win!)  Good luck on your quest for a suitable bus, the market right now is ripe and the pickin's are good.

Here is a list to tell if you are infected with Stainless Steel Fever or to tell you if you are a certified Bus Nut.

1 Your favorite salad dressing is Dello 100.
2 You have pulled down all the pictures of Lonnie Anderson and Dolly Parton and replaced them with bus posters from MAK Publishing.
3 The word Re-tread takes on a totally new meaning other than early retirement.
4 When you are eating out and you hear the word “Chrome” you automatically turn your head in the direction of the voice that said it.
5 Your wife insists that you “clap your hands” (so you cannot pick anything up) while visiting the truckers accessories section of the truck stop.
6 All your ball-caps and your underwear have Eagles on them.
7 R-U-S-T becomes a dirty four letter word.
8 You drive all the way to Florida to visit the world’s largest chrome shop.
9 The aroma of diesel smoke early in the morning often smells better than fresh coffee or donuts.
10 You admit to your true age but you lie about fuel mileage.
11 A toad is no longer a reptile or in the frog family.

Feel free to add to the list ... Have yourself a whale of a time deep in the heart of Texas!

Don, That's pretty funny and very true! Wink

Alex, Friday or Saturday would be great for viewing and listening to the owners brag about their ride! Coffee Creek does have cabins available if you want to "Camp Out" and stay for more than just the one day without the commute.

Not sure how many have signed up yet, but guessing at least 10-15.

Hope to see ya there!
