As most of you know, we are Park Attendants this summer, at Lillydale Campground in Allons, TN on the KY line. Voted on as one of the top 10 most Beautiful parks in the US. Who knew?
Anyway, I just wanted to point something out that we are seeing. People over 62 are entitled to buy a Senior Access pass which costs $10. For life-you never have to buy another, unless you lose it. You can also get the same thing if you are handicapped physically (owning a bus is not proof of mental deficiency). Lots of people don't seem to know this is available.
The Senior (or handicapped) pass gets you half price at almost all Federal parks, recreations, entrance and camping fees. Here at Lillydale, that's $12 rather than the already cheap $24, per night. That's for a really scenic, flat, clean, well designed, roomy site made of tightly packed gravel, with water, electric, picnic table, grill and fire pit. And most parks are this nice, if not this scenic.
My point is this. Most of us are above the age to get discounts and go to rallys. Why not take advantage more with these scenic and inexpensive parks. Something to think about. But do get your pass and make use of it somewhere.
oh, and by the way, Come visit us!
Disclaimer: This post does nothing but relieve my boredom and help my friends. We don't get rich if you visit a park.
