Speaking of length, using the RTO910 in the MCI7 and the 8V, no problems, just cooling.
And using the existing motor mount at water pump area, moved the bell housing pads rearward about 11.25" when put the 12V-71 in, that ment using a driveshaft 9.5" long with telescopic between rear yoke and trans yoke, would have loved to put the 13 speed in, but that was  not possible due to length difference. beside the 12V only needed about 3 gears, the NA version, You could take down to 35 mph in direct and accelerate off the ramp just dandy. actually you never needed to change gears for power, just speed control.
Start up mtn, just push the throttle to speed you wanted,
Even the 8V-71 needed more radiator, used a truck rad across the back with that, but when the 12V went in, is when the large radiator went on, then added the mister  for long mtns on a real warm day.

If all the Crown Supercoaches with 10-speed Roadrangers can have flawless shifting. . .

On a mid-ship Crown, a piece of cake, HB.

Trying the same thing on a pusher Scenic, and you end up with a backwards shift pattern!

Just today's useless trivia!

Using the Kenworth Cable shift, pattern is normal & smooth using the RTO910.  A joy to drive with the DD engine.
