Pipe that is: I am short some bends and straight runs-- what is acceptable to use and where to get it if special. The tubing I have now is alum but I am short a few feet and couple bends to make run from air to air to intake/charger.  I have the flanged coupler to  compressor. Bob

Steel exhaust pipe bends work just fine.  I use mandrel bends.  Summit racing, Jeg's, or ebay have them cheap.  The only thing you might want to do is add a way to help the hoses stay on - either find a friend with a bead roller (or here's an excuse to buy another tool) or what I do is weld a couple of beads about 1/4" from each end.  Two beads on opposite sides of pipe about an inch or so long should do it.

You should be able find the correct size mandrel bent tubing on eBay. Plan B go to a truck salvage yard and buy an arm load of CAC tubing and weld together what you need. I think you'll mostly find steel.

As they say.  Butt welded steel tube, beaded where flex hose fits, Tig welded if possible.  Mandrel bends with zero kinking in the bend short side.  Such bends can be expensive.

    AND use the wide flat hose clamps with the spring on the tightening bolt!!!!!
