I've had an IR temp gun for many years and have found it to be very useful. I got mine at NAPA, I think. If I recall, it was over $50
but that was probably a decade or more ago.
I get emails from a company called ThermoWorks that makes fine digital cooking thermometers called the Thermopen. They were
rated best by the people at America's Test Kitchen / Cooks Country. I agree and have been using them for many years. They're a
must have for BBQ!
Periodically I get an email from them with special deals. This week, they have some Open Box IR Thermo Guns on sale for $34. Now,
understand, I no experience with these particular units, but I've been very pleased with the Thermopens. The company seems to
be very well run and produces a quality product. If I didn't already have an IR gun, I'd certainly consider one of these at that price.
I also have no connection to the company, other than being a satisfied customer.
