Thought I would share this info with everyone. The school bus garage here in my home town was charged

$ 1,964.00 for a 55 gal.drum for the Allision TranSynd transmission fluid. Question I have, for the one's who have

this type of transmission in their coach , do you guys use this product?  $ 35.70 a gallion at this price.

If you have a new Allison World Transmission like the B400 or B500 or truck form-2000, 3000 or 4000 series, the only way you can get additional warranty is to run TranSynd. At least at Freightliner, all Allison transmission come with TranSynd from the factory. If you want to change, you need to change the oil twice in the transmission. Advantages to TranSynd-it shifts smoother, runs cooler, will use less fuel, transmission lasts longer.
With normal ATF, the suggested change interval is fluid and filter every 50,000miles. With TranSynd, you change the filters at 75,000mi and then change the fluid and filters at 150,000mi.
I have the HT740 in my truck and V730 in my bus. I run standard ATF in both. If I were running lots of miles, like commercial service, I would change to TransSynd. $35.70 is about a middle of the road price per gallon. Good Luck, TomC

We changed over to transynd in our transits and doubled our overhaul mileage from 250,000 miles to 500,000. B400's and B500's.   Cheers Gerry

I use the Amsoil version that meets all TES295 specs for less money, and I get all the above advantages and results.>>>Dan  (MH3060)

Several brands now meet the TES 295 specs and above at a better price I saw Shell and Mobil for 23.95 a gal @ Sam's Club

Steve, I use amsoil synthetic in my HD4060 if A dealer tells you that they will not give you warranty because you did not use there oil let me know I will send you a copy of the law that says they have to prove the oil caused the problem. By the way if they say you have to use there oil they have to give it to you free of charge.

Let me know where you are located and I will send an amsoil rep over to you and they can explain all I have said

Don,

Thanks for that info, as mentioned I believe if they say you have to use that for warranty purposes they are on the edge of the Magnusom Moss warranty act.

Allison's warranty for the B500 simply states you must use transmission fluid and filters as specified in the operator's manual.  I assume the manual states to use the TES 295 fluid.  The warranty does state if you purchase an extended warranty that you must continue to use TES 295 fluid.  I can't anything that says you must buy Transynd.

If you choose to use Dexron ATF or anything else that isn't TES 295 in a new Allison World transmission you're going to have a hack of a fight with a warranty claim trying to prove that the oil wasn't at fault.

I chose to use TES 295 fluid in my B500 because I can go four years between changes.  It is enough of a pain to do that it is worth the extra cost to me.  About two years ago I bought Mobil Delvac Synthetic ATF for about $171 for a 5 gallon pail.

Has anybody beside Clifford seen a TES 295 ATF at Sam's Club?  Different Sam's Clubs carry different things, but I'm pretty sure Sam's Club here does not have it.
