I should probably keep a series going about the installation process.  But, I'll continue to have lots of questions along the way.  I know some of you have already done this, so any help would be appreciated. 

Below are a couple pictures.  How do I install the pedal?  Do I cut the MCI floor plate in two?  Or, do I keep the plate and just cut a big hole in it and set the new pedal on top?

Any thoughts on removing the cable and installing the air line?   where do i get the air from?

We are heading out the door to head to the river to kayak.  I will look for the article I wrote about our air throttle installation for BCM when we return late this afternoon.  It will answer many of your questions.

    You know how everything you try to do on a bus is complicated???  You start with simple parts in a new, easy place and then it all goes over the hill?  My air throttle install was about the opposite of that.  I had air at the driver's position of air seats and an air horn.  I put the pedal on the floor, the cylinder on the engine fuel pump, ran DOT air line, and drove off.  I was AMAZED -- it usually doesn't happen like that!

ive got the same set up i want to install on my mc8.my question is what is the best angle to have the pedel set at? for comfort. Huh

    IME, it varies.  I put mine in and it was *just fine* with the stock driver's seat.  I put in a (much more comfortable) replacement seat and found that the angle was wrong.  I moved the floor unit a little (mine was "all the parts above the floor" so it was easy) and that fixed it.  But basically it seems mock it up and sit in the seat and try it.

any body got any pictures of there instalation? like the hole in the floor and what was incounterd or what to look for.i think its going to be a fun project. Grin

Keep the floor plate and modify as required.  The Williams pedal comes in two different angles, you might find the 45 degree more comfortable.

With that pedal you can rotate it to the most comfy position for your style driving just get it right the 1st time

If you don't have a cruise control already make sure you leave enough space under the pedal to attach a hand throttle cable to use as a cruise substitute.

I've used a hand throttle on my 4107 for years but the clearance under my pedal is so close it is hard to keep it adjusted.

The 4104 came originally with a hand throttle.

With my air throttle, I added a small metal plate to the end of the gas pedal with a hole larger then the cable that pulls the pedal for the King Cruise. Then when I'm using my foot on the pedal, the cable just slides through the hole. But when the cruise control is activated, it pulls down on the gas pedal. It works well, and then the control unit is on the right side of the dash with the cable looping under the bus, up through the floor to pull down on the gas pedal. Good Luck, TomC
