2 psi is a lot more than most think...i would definitely use a secondary regulator...

Harbor Freight has small pressure regulators that are low in cost, work nice.

If I was to do that, and I think it could be a great idea, I would plug the return line (out the back of the passenger side head on my MCI) and put air directly into the head, bypassing the fuel pump.  Probably do one head at a time.  You could use a coolant system leakdown gauge, maybe.

On my bus (gmpd4106) I have disconnected the line that goes from the secondary filter to the head to apply  air pressure. This is after fuel pump. I also will cap off the return line to tank so it only applies air thru both heads. I have an air regulator from a spray gun that goes down to only a few pounds air pressure as well.
And according to the post I read, if you use compressesd air you should be able to hear it leaking. I also suspect one might have to use soapy water to find the leak(s) -and obvoiusly trying to prevent the soapy water running down into the oilpan.

Don't use soapy water. Put diesel fuel in spray bottle and spray/ flood suspected spots. Air bubbles will show.
