.......Chas, perhaps the suggestion is to use the LED sign from a city transit bus. While making it fit may be an issue, the bigger issue may well be programming. With a service change, reprogramming signs can be a major task. I haven't been directly involved in a while, so I don't know the state of the problem with current Luminators, Twin Visions, or others - you may want to talk with your local transit property.

That's what I was thinkg too, Len. I'm not sure how they work, but I see them all over the place, especially bars and such. But I still like the idea of nostalgia too. As for the idea that there could be a problem with getting what I want printed , a plain backround and tape or a paintbrush would do the trick, I think. I still the little "Just passin thru" guy with the beard!!! Chaz p.s. Oh, "Elvis has left the Bus", MIGHT be a bit long. We would have to get a little more creative!!

I like the idea of one of these on the back of the bus. Seems like there was an old Dean Martin movie with him driving a van with a voice activated system. The police were chasing him and shooting at the van and Dean posted a message that there was an innocent girl with him and the shooting increased; he then told his passenger that the French don't believe there are any innocent girls.
We could post a good long message so the driver behind never sees the brake lights.

I've always liked the old style manual roller sign like the one on my MC-8. I guess it's a good 'sign' that it doesn't have 'Out of Service' as one of its options. For those wanting scrolling LED signs, I wonder how these would work: http://www.neon-nites.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=404. Maybe we should start posting pics of some of our better destination signs (when we get 'em). David

I keep revising what I'm going to put on my sign. Some of the messages that have survived a couple revisions are:
CONDO TO GO IM NOT LOST LOST CASA OMNIBUS WHEEL ESTATE
There have been other unforgetable messages, but I don't remember them.

In Theory, theory and practice are the same. In Practice, they aren't.

Not a destination sign but something I plan to put on my bud beside the door. A pinup girl like on the old ww2 airplanes with big hooters and her hands cupping them with the saying "Must Be This Big To Ride This Ride"

I'm just bringing this out of the moth balls since Runcutter looked it up for me. It's a blast from the past!!! It's an addition to Doug's "Destination Sign/Window". Maybe some of you guys came up with some new ones since then?? ?? ?? I'm amazed it's been over 3 years ago since I posted it! Wow. Thanx Arthur!! Chaz
