Hi Guy's,

I'm looking for a condencer fan motor for my 102c3 1989' it has the square 24v motor that mounts to the floor of the condencer compartment

and blows down through the floor. I'm looking for a take out before I commit to a reman for about $800. Nimco's out of stock!

Nick,
I have one complete with the mounting bracket at my place. It belongs to
Greg Peterson, but I will see how much he wants for it.  I do not know if it would qualify for UPS.  Jack

Ok, a little on the high side but, is there any way you can test it before we go through the shipping process?

Nick,
Unless you need it immediately, I'd look for a better price.  I bought an evaporator/ heater blower for my MC-8 for about $.  The fellow I got it from had no plans to use it.  He also had the condenser fan, but I didn't want to pay shipping on it since I didn't need it.  Look for somebody who's scrapping a bus.  How different is this fan from the one in a MC-8 or -9?  If one of those would work, I've seen several -8's being parted out on the BNO board.  Email me if you need contact info from a guy I got parts from.  You might also try Luke.  Good luck!

David,

The difference is, 1, the shape of the motor. 2, the mounting bracket.

On the 8's and 9's the bracket mounts to the side wall, and the 102's mount to the floor!

Thanks for the advice.

Nick,
Call JD at C & J bus Repair in MN. 800-228-7349. I've bought reconditioned motors from him pretty reasonable! Might be able to check their website for a price before calling them. cjbusrepair.com they are good people JD will help you save $ if he can and will be honest an tell you so if he can't! They do all the rebuilding of the the reconditioned motors themselves, and he has some good outside sources to ge "new" ones cheaper than going thru MCI! FWIT! Knuckle!

Nick,
Mine mounts to the floor.  It's a fairly large fan; it reminds me of a gable fan that mounts in an attic.  It has a large square motor.  The mount is like a frame that mounts to the floor and the blades are covered by heavy expanded steel mesh.  I'm not sure, but maybe some of the MC-8's and -9's were different.

C&J Bus Repair has the 102 condenser fans for $$$$ one speed and $$$$ two speed.  Core charge is $$$$.

They have these listed on their web site.

Is there some rule I don't know about that we can't mention prices of things that someone else is selling that we have no financial interest in?  It seems that every dollar amount in this thread has been edited out.

Nick, you're the one who asked about condenser fans in the first place.  Do you not want any replies with prices?

Nick,

I think asking for a part you need and getting replies with offers

and selling an item are totally different things.

Using the logic of apparantley some would mean if you were broke down and needed a part, and then asked on this site,  that you would be "Buying and Selling"

Give me a break Roll Eyes

Nick and I finished our conversations about this off the BB, which is how I should have replied to his original post. I know of a couple cases in past years where someone wanted to sell something, so they would put a post on a BB looking for that item, then put a reply listing that item.  If anyone is looking for someting and puts a post on the board, replies can be emailed directly to him.  Whether we agree or disagree, this is MAKS BB and we do get to use it at no charge.  Jack

In my case, I wasn't selling anything.  I think someone said to contact C&J Bus Repair about the price for the motor Nick needed.  I found the prices on C&J's web site and posted them here.  I suppose I could have posted the URL here.

Nobody at C&J asked me to post the prices, nor do I have any realtionship with them other than as a customer.

I understand why posting of parts for sale for personal gain is prohibited and I don't dispute that.  If MAK makes policies too restrictive, he won't have any visitors.  This board helps him advertise for his magazine and his bus sales.

I guess I'm wondering why a moderator's ... I mean Nick's...  post is the only one with prices still in it?  It's odd, 'cause that's the first post mentioning price.  I certainly hope that I didn't violate anything.  I was only trying to save a fellow bus nut some money, and  I don't have anything to sell.  My point was to find a good, working fan that's been pulled to eliminate the OTR air, and the price was mentioned to show how cheaply they can be purchased.

So, should we or shouldn't we email a person who's posted asking for a part?  I'm confused.  All because somebody was trying to help....

Hi Guy's,

You guy's are right!  We were Not advertizing or solicitating! I was just inquireing of a part!

So let's make it clear! I should not have edited any posts! I responded poorly to a couple of e-mails, complaining of selling on the board!

Allthough, I think any corospondences involving money should go private e-mail!

Thank You-

I agree with you Nick. We are on here trying to help other nuts whether it is for advice or parts or whatever.
In the future, if we get a for Sale section started, then blatant for sale ads should go there but things like your fan needs should have been left alone. Good call.

All,

The discussion of parts and prices is a good thing.

I for one,  would like to know what something is going for or worth.

Even if I don't have a direct need for the item. Yet!

When users send private email or items are edited in the middle of a thread it deprives all of us of valuable information and defeats

the purpose of a searchable archive.

FWIW
