Our 4104 has many deeply hidden grease zerks. Some are not even there, they are plugged until the need for greasing. IMO the best paratice it to refer to the vehicle specific lubrication chart. Kinda like reading a roadmap. It's good to be aware of any changes that occurred over time to grease points. A good example is a bearing that required periodic grease maintanence replaced with a more modern sealed bearing as in throw out bearings. Just saying.

When I switched from double doors to a single sedan door, I recall there being a grease zerk on the bottom hinge accessible from outside the bus and another one on that huge hinge in the middle. I've almost forgotten the top one; I'll need to take care of that this weekend. I recall one bus operator saying years ago that second owners often don't realize there is even a zerk in there. Out of sight, out of mind. He said that is the number one cause of failure which leads to broken hinges, etc. Thanks for the reminder!

Backed by a $39.1 million federal grant, the facility replaces a cramped 2.2-acre depot, expands indoor maintenance bays and positions the agency for a zero-emission future.

Missoula is really shaking things up when it comes to transit in mid-sized cities. With a new zero-emission, hydrogen-ready operations base, they're leading the charge! The city's beloved Mountain Line, which runs a zero-fare bus network, is expanding from its cramped Shakespeare Street depot to a spacious 18.5-acre campus over on West Broadway and Whippoorwill Drive. Thanks to a hefty $39.1 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and a total budget of $76 million, this new Maintenance, Operations, and Administration Base (MOAB) is combining battery-electric charging capabilities with infrastructure that's all set for future hydrogen fuel cell buses...
